What is Lymphatic Drainage?

Lymphatic Drainage  (also called Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Lymphatic massage) is a manual technique that uses a gentle pressure to reduce fluid retention, improve circulation, skin appearance, relax muscles, and overall tone the skin and the body. The lymph carries white blood cells which are fighting and preventing an infection. Manual Lymphatic Drainage helps to move lymph back to your lymph nodes then to your bloodstream while increasing metabolism, assisting with body waste removal and improving your immune system.

How does Lymphatic Drainage work?

Lymphatic Drainage assists the lymphatic system in maintaining the body’s fluid balance, blood circulation, and immune mechanisms. The system’s network of vessels and nodes contains lymph, a clear fluid composed of a mixture of water, proteins, immune system components, waste products, and other remnants of cell metabolism. Lymph nodes, which filter out the debris, are found throughout the body, with especially large groups of them in the neck, armpits, and groin. These major collections of lymph nodes ensure that the lymph passes through as many nodes as possible before it returns to the circulatory system.

How does Manual Lymphatic Drainage feel?

The bodywork therapist uses light, fingertip pressure while applying rhythmic movements to guide excess fluid toward the body’s healthy lymph nodes, where it is reabsorbed by the blood and cleansed. Our highly trained and experienced therapist stimulates your lymphatic system without compressing the vessels. She follows a specific sequence over the body so lymph isn’t trapped anywhere, making sure every area is treated with care.

After the Manual Lymphatic Drainage session most people say they feel “light and relaxed” and some people say they feel “light and energetic” for the following few days.

We recommend regular weekly Lymphatic Drainage massages to flush the accumulated lymph to improve your body health and skin appearance.

Who is Lymphatic Drainage for?

For Anyone who wants to:

– decrease fluid retention, bloating, swelling with cycles

Lymphatic Drainage is recommended as a complementary therapy for cancer recovery because of its holistic nature, especially when lymph nodes were removed during treatment. The manual technique helps to regenerate tissue, reduce swelling, detoxify the body thus promoting healing. Please consult with your care provider and receive post-surgery clearance to start with Manual Lymphatic Drainage treatment.

After cosmetic or plastic surgery. Plastic Surgery packages are available to help relieve pain and reduce inflammation. To achieve maximum benefit and faster recovery we recommend starting Manual Lymphatic Drainage treatment prior to your plastic procedure and after as soon as possible.

When is Lymphatic Drainage  NOT recommended?

Please postpone your Manual Lymphatic Drainage session if you have a current infection.

Please consult with your care provider if you have following conditions:
